Manjula Padmanabhan is an author, playwright, artist and cartoonist. She grew up in Europe and Southeast Asia, returning to India as a teenager. She currently lives in the US with a part-time home in New Delhi. She has illustrated over 20 children’s titles including her own stories and puzzles. She used to draw a comic strip about a feisty, googly-eyed female character called SUKI. For several years the strip appeared in different newspapers, before finally ending in 2016. Her play *HARVEST* won the Onassis Award for Theatre, in Greece, in 1997. Her two most recent books are *STOLEN HOURS and Other Curiosities*, a collection of SF short stories and *TAXI*, a novel set in New Delhi, about a woman taxi driver. *TAXI* was recently awarded the 2024 Sushila Devi Award for women’s fiction. *Websites*: www.sweetlotusart.com , www.magnoliana.com.
